{"id":192,"date":"2011-08-02T15:57:38","date_gmt":"2011-08-02T19:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.willyurman.com\/teaching\/?page_id=192"},"modified":"2021-01-20T09:05:29","modified_gmt":"2021-01-20T13:05:29","slug":"11-a-person-and-their-passion","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.willyurman.com\/teaching\/comm-481\/481-assignments\/11-a-person-and-their-passion\/","title":{"rendered":"Assignment 17- 481 &#8211; A Person and Their Passion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #888888; font-size: x-small;\">points 150<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><strong>Assigned<\/strong>: Tuesday, March 13, 2018<\/p>\n<p><strong>Due: <\/strong>Monday, April 2nd &#8211; Project uploaded by 11:59 pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Goal:<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0To work as a team to create a compelling character driven video.<\/p>\n<p>We will work in teams -\u00c2\u00a0You will shoot together. <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>But each will edit their OWN version<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They <strong>CANNOT<\/strong> be someone you know.<\/li>\n<li>Your subject <strong>must be available<\/strong> throughout the assignment for additional interviews and shoots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Create a compelling story about a person with a passion for the arts &#8211; they could be a painter, musician, sculptor, whatever&#8230;They must be <span style=\"color: #800000;\">ACTIVELY<\/span> doing their art so you have the opportunity to get active video. You <span style=\"color: #800000;\">CANNOT pose<\/span> them or ask them to work, it must be a real situation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Find your subject, interview them, record natural sound and shoot beautiful visuals.<\/p>\n<p>The story &#8211; find an angle to draw us in. Remember that how people feel is generally more interesting than a simple history how things happened.
