Team Coverage of an event

points 150

Assigned: Monday, October 12, 2020

Due: Tuesday, October 27th – Project uploaded by 11:59 pm

Goal: To work as a team to create a compelling character-driven video from an event.

We will work in teams - You will shoot together. But each will edit their OWN version.

  • They CANNOT be someone you know.

Create a compelling story from a live event with at least one interview of your main character.

Find an event and then a good subject(s) within the event interview them, record natural sound and shoot beautiful visuals.

The story – find an angle to draw us in. Remember that how people feel is generally more interesting than a simple history how things happened. As you interview think about how you will frame and edit the story – don’t leave until you think you know how you will start and end the piece.

  • What will make it compelling?
  • How will you keep our interest?
  • Do you have enough photos?
  • Do you have enough sound?
  • Did you listen hard during the interview?

The show can’t be longer than 90 seconds (less is ok – more is not)

How can you work together?

Interview different people at the same time
Shoot b-roll from different angles
One shoots, while the other gathers audio
any way you want…

Turn in your entire project folder including:

  1. All your raw footage and Premiere project file (If I can’t open your project, you’ll lose points)
  2. Your exported Premiere project
  3. Your text document – a well-written story in AP style that enhances the video story.

Name your files the same thing:
