Improvising Good Video and Audio

Good storytelling requires good looking video and great sounding audio. But what if you don’t have all the tools you want? You don’t have a tripod, your wireless mic is broken, or the batteries died, or you just don’t own one?

What if you’re interviewing someone over Skype and the audio sounds awful but you need it?

Improvise

This video offers a couple of tips for making the most out of what you have.

  1. Simple options if you don’t have a tripod
  2. Using your smartphone as that wireless microphone. Get it close to your subject and then use that audio to replace the bad audio from the camera. If your subject is 500 miles away, have them record themselves and email you the audio file. Easy!
