100 points
Assigned:Â Â Tuesday, September 15, 2020
Due: Wednesday, September 23, 2020 – images submitted on Box by 10 pm
What makes a good photo?  All the things we’ve talked about in class and maybe more – moment, composition, light, framing, color…
Goal: To look for the unusual in the obvious
Assignment:
So much has changed in the past six months or so. How can we tell that story in photos that are compelling? Not just the things, but how people are interacting with each other, with the space around them, with the world as it is today.
- Dramatic light
- An unusual angle
- Get closer than normal
- Look for a strong moment
Photos must include people. Photos CANNOT be posed.
I want you to think like a journalist, real moments, humanity, storytelling. Think beyond the obvious snapshot. It’s fine to take those photos too, but your best images should go beyond what you’ve seen before.
GET CAPTION INFORMATION: NAMES, AGES, HOMETOWNS, WHY THEY ARE WHERE THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY ARE DOING.Â
As with all weekly assignments:
- a minimum of 75 images
- a minimum of 90 minutes of shooting
