Good & Bad photos
Goal: To begin to think critically about photographs.
What makes a ‘good’ photo? What makes a photo ‘bad’?
Assignment:
Find one example each of photos that you think are good and bad.
The photographs should be of real people in real moments – journalistic rather than advertising or posed portraits. Photos of people doing things, NOT pretty flowers, sunsets or puppy dogs.
You might look at journalistic sites such as nytimes.com/lens or your local newspaper. Photos can also be found on flickr, instagram, facebook, etc. They do not need to be shot by professional photographers, but should be candid photos of real people in real situations.
Try to find photos that are relatively large on the screen – it’s difficult to look at little images.
To save a photo, right click on an image to save it to a folder on your computer.
Name your photos  Your_Name_1 and Your_Name_2
